To whoever finds this (someone, I hope),
I've been noticing some weird stuff on campus, and I was wondering if anyone else had noticed the same things. Or different strange things that I've missed, for that matter. I don't know, maybe I'm just stressed by midterms and I'm just imagining stuff, in which case nobody will find this board I guess.
Anyway, if you HAVE noticed some strangeness on campus (besides scav of course) then please mention it so that I don't think I'm going crazy.

No I haven't seen any glass bubbles yet but I'll keep my eyes open for them. Thanks for posting! Here is a picture of one of the symbols I've been seeing around campus. Does anyone recognize it?

I found one of these glass globes by the Social Sciences quad. There are CDs and pins inside. Is this part of a game? There's something bigger going on, but not sure how it's all connected yet. Let me know if you all figure anything else out.

I saw a couple of similar symbols in Stuart today - one near the main entrance and the other in the stairwell to the Philosophy department. However, they were a lot neater than these, and unburnt (they looked like they'd either been done very carefully with permanent marker or printed). No text or anything, though.

I found a CD and it has 3 things that seem to be part of the same puzzle we found last night from the buttons, only it's labeled as fragConv1- and fragConv1-6 instead of 3 and 3-6 . I could host that stuff somewhere if you guys are interested in seeing it. This is the mediafire link from last night: www.mediafire.com/xivwdvovbwvix the numbering makes it seem like there is a third piece? Anyone found anything like that?

More clues:
1. Saw a poster in the stairwell by Ex-Libris today which had this written on it:
Als;djkfl;kasjdl;kml;kml;kml;oiuoiumzmkl;mkjdhiwro[h[oi;lkj;lkjdj
and then said to go to Harper 102 at 7:30pm this Thursday.
My guess is that this is either a simple substitution code which needs to be cracked, or it's related somehow to the "gibberish" text files we've seen so far. Maybe a key to something.
2. Lots of references to symmetry, cracks, mirrors, etc. E.g. all of these symmetrical veve-like symbols, the palindromic character-strings ("XibvOvdiX"), the images hyperlinked to on the interstitialgame.com website.
Clearly, George Trower is some sort of intermediary between us and OmeoStat, and he seems to be the one leaving us things and putting up fliers around campus. [Btw, has anybody emailed WvidXbivW@uchicago.edu?]
Why, though?

Yea, I saw that same nonsense advert for Thursday in Reynolds. And please do post those files.

.rtf opens in TextEdit or Word. The contents of it are gibberish (or code), though.

Depends on whether I get off work before then. I was planning on dropping in to see if there was anything mysterious still lying around.

I didn't actually go. I was still working at 7:30, but I took a detour through Harper when I was walking between buildings. I didn't actually see a 102 -- I probably just missed it, though. If anyone else is still on campus, it may be worth checking out.
